The Avion Online. We at
The Avion strive to be a reliable and in-depth source of information to the student body by covering all aspects of student life.
To this end,
The Avion is produced by students, for students using an all-volunteer staff. Whether investigating ideas, assigning stories, working on page design or copy editing text, each staff member contributes in his or her own way. The paper is funded by student government fees and supplemented by funding from advertising revenue.
All Embry-Riddle students are eligible, and encouraged, to join the staff or contribute by submitting an opinions article.
The paper has a circulation of approximately 4,000 issues, 200 of which are mailed out as subscriptions. The print copy of the paper is distributed around campus each Tuesday (biweekly during the summer). As you are already aware, we also maintain an online copy of the paper and send weekly HTML newsletters via e-mail.
The Avion is a division of the Student Government Association (SGA). That is, the SGA partially funds
The Avion and approves major financial decisions concerning the paper. The SGA does not play a role in the actual production or publication of the paper in any form.
